The Back Beach Boyz are a very well known and popular Sea Shanty / Maritime Folk band based in and around Teignmouth. We have been performing together for over 10 years. Due to the fact that a couple of members are now wanting to move on to explore other life choices, we find ourselves with potential vacancies for 2 new members and we would like to invite expressions of interest from people with truly deep bass voices, but who can also effortlessly reach the higher vocal range of Baritone.

Other required qualities are an easy relaxed manner, the ability to fit in well with an established group and a strong sense of comradeship. The ability to also play the fiddle would be a bonus. Just as a couple of notes from previous questions :
• We practice once a week – 6pm for a beer and a chat and then 7pmish to 8.30pm ish to actually sing – currently on a Tuesday, but that may change to a Thursday.
• No it doesn’t pay ! But we do raise money for charity.
• Whilst you don’t have to attend every practice or every gig, a willingness to give up suitable time, both for rehearsals and performances, is important.
