Back Beach Boyz
Hailing from Teignmouth, the Back Beach Boyz bring energy, originality and a touch of Devonian charm to every stage they step on. Since forming on February 1st 2013, our lively crew has made waves at many festivals across the UK, including every year at the Falmouth International Sea Shanty festival and the legendary Widecombe Fair.
We have even appeared on BBC TV singing one of our own compositions and have performed in iconic venues like Exeter Cathedral and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, as well as overseas at the International Vegesack Maritime Festival in Germany.
With a strong catalogue of original songs and albums , we serve up lively maritime folk songs & sea shanties and with a twist and a whole lot of heart!
We believe in having fun whilst we are singing, which is reflected in our albums, “Good Libations” (2019), and “Captain Baarman’s Dog” (2024), which also had an accompanying promotional video called “The Monk Of Lidwell Chapel’, that can be found on our You Tube channel. Our third album, “Captain Jack Spratt” was also released in 2024. Many of the tracks on the 2 latter albums were written by several members of the band. 2026 will see us releasing a further 2 new albums.
Charities we support
We often perform at suitable charity events for free.
For paid bookings we often ask for the option to pass buckets around for additional donations from the audience.
